Fun and engaging challenges with a twist are just the way to top it all off with true team spirit!
Everybody wants to be outside in the summer, either to improve collaboration skills or simply do something fun together. As a member of the Catalyst Global Teambuilding Network, we have access to the award-winning Go Team app. It allows us to run high-quality team development events both online and in any town or village. Or in several places at the same time. Nobody has to stay indoors with Go Team – unless they want to! The events can be tailored especially for your team. And if screen fatigue is running rampant in your team, disconnect from devices and connect with each other while building something together, playing a board game or testing your strategic thinking and fitness!

Engaging challenges in two teams creates a fun competitive atmosphere for exciting teamwork and collaboration.
how it works
To begin, your entire group forms two tribes. Each tribe then creates an equal number of smaller sub teams. Each team then rotates through a circuit of ‘quests’, competing head to head with teams from the other tribe. Points accumulated by the teams contribute to their tribe’s total score. Strategy is key to success – the rules enable teams to play to their strengths, resting chosen players during some challenges in order to reserve strength for their preferred quests.
Designed to encourage people of all physical abilities to participate in a fun and supportive environment. This healthy team building activity is all about integrity, inclusion and mutual respect. The unique format of Two Tribes creates a level playing field, introducing participants to traditional sports, which they may not otherwise experience. Everyone has an opportunity to get involved and contribute to team and tribal success – there are roles for everybody. Designed to set the pulse racing, this healthy experience develops team dynamics while having fun!

The Infinite Loop
The Infinite Loop is a strong lean management business game, based on real-time collaboration, and real-time communication.
how it works
The team’s mission is to go back and forth between the virtual and real worlds, finding clues and solving puzzles. The event can be run fully online as a browser based activity or live with the aid of VR-glasses. The aim is to solve the riddles and save a prisoner stuck in the virtual world. One team member at a time wears the VR headset to describe the virtual world, while their teammates in the real world have the solutions, which open the doors of different rooms using the White Hats Guide Book. The more precise the player in the virtual world is in describing the problem, the faster the teammates in the real world find the solution.
The Infinite Loop has a strong learning curve. Iterative learning, combined with continuous feedback, and improvement, makes the teams solve problems in more efficient ways. It is a versatile, and powerful tool for debriefing on complex issues affecting modern businesses working with distributed or hybrid teams and a variety of client situations, employing agile methodologies.
Chain Reaction Table Top
Chain reaction gives teams an opportunity to experience the Rube Goldberg machine’s logic where simple and small parts create something impressive when put together.
how it works
In Chain Reaction Table Top, teams are supplied with a game board and a set of detailed idea cards which they discuss with their group. They share these ideas with other teams to develop a strategy for their overall contraption. Each team designs, builds and tests a number of simple machines. They join them together and retest. Next they join their series of simple machines to the next team’s simple machines and work together to ensure it flows from one to the next. Once the contraption is complete and tested, in a grand finale the device is triggered and cascades through each of the simple machines.
Chain Reaction develops a true sense of common purpose and a memorable shared experience when efforts are rewarded with success. Collaboration between the teams to share knowledge and resources is imperative to success and to extend the limits of creativity. Teams work to develop a common vision, developing a shared strategy which they put into place by applying excellent project and resource management skills. Successful teams understand the task, assess available resources, make a rough plan and then throughout construction, they appraise, and accordingly adapt and modify their initial plan. In the testing stages teams learn to be persistent in the face of difficulty with an eye for detail in working towards excellence.
Essence of Excellence
Teams decide, develop and market the perfume describing them the best.
how it works
In Essence of Excellence, teams become alchemists, experimenting with exotic extracts to create a blend that captures the essence of their target market or their own team. Teams discuss and define the mood, likes and characteristics of their target market. Teams learn the basic techniques of perfumery, teams blend base, mid and top ‘notes’ to create a ready-to-wear fragrance. They then support their fragrance with a powerful and persuasive marketing campaign which they present to the whole group.
The customer is the focus in Essence of Excellence. Teams are required to understand the emotions and motivations of their target market in order to capture its essence with a bespoke scent and a creative brand. During the process, participants’ own perceptions are explored and compared with that of others, highlighting that we each operate from a unique and valid model. This realisation brings understanding, bridges cultural gaps and builds relationships within each team. It also brings a deeper understanding of customers and their perceptions.
The Big Picture
The Big Picture is an engaging method for any company to celebrate a shared vision and be inclusive with its employees.
how it works
The Big Picture team building exercise commences with individuals joining into small teams. Teams collect brushes, paint, a diagram outlining their individual canvas and a blank canvas. They then set about as a team to mix paints to create the right colours and paint their canvas. Soon into the exercise, teams realise that in order for the overall artwork to be successful they need to collaborate with other teams. Once complete, the highlight of The Big Picture is the final reveal where, following a debriefing session, the masterpiece is unveiled to all participants for the first time.
Every now and then it is important to step back and look at the ‘big picture’, particularly when looking at an organisation and how its people operate and communicate internally. In The Big Picture the importance of teamwork, cooperation and communication is reinforced through the process of painting an artistic masterpiece of truly epic proportions. Prior to the activity, our graphic designers work with you to create an artwork that is reflective of your goals, values, mission and vision. Inspirational in its scale, and with a spectacular reveal.

Knowing Me Knowing You - Work Styles
Knowing Me Knowing You Work Styles helps teams to get to know and analyze each other’s work styles.
how it works
Work Styles starts with participants considering their own working style and writing down their preferences on a number of given subjects. Next they get to know their peers by networking the room and finding out how others match their own styles. The aim of the game is to find as many matches as possible. With the group energised, it is time to form into teams of similar working styles. A group facilitator then leads a group discussion exploring why it is productive to have a range of working styles within a team, but also why this may not be effective if there is limited appreciation of the different ways in which each other work.
Knowing Me Knowing You – Work Styles is a team building activity that has been specifically designed to help participants understand each other, and appreciate how both those with similar and different working styles can be key contributors to the productivity of the team. It gives participants the opportunity to explore the way in which they personally tend to work. Research shows that the most effective teams are formed of people with a variety of working styles. However these differences can cause conflict if they are not appreciated. If understood, appreciated and embraced, they will lead to more effective innovation and ideation.
